Channels in Rocket.Chat allow us to keep conversations focused on specific topics. All Testlio workspaces have their own channels for people in the workspace to have conversations about tasks.

Other channels are open to everyone in Rocket.Chat. These channels are each focused on specific topics for specific groups of people.

Mentioning client names and apps in a public Rocket.Chat channel represents a breach of the Freelancer Services Agreement.

Everything related to the workspaces you're working in should stay within the workspace channel. You can mention client names in direct messages with Testlio employees who are investigating cases, such as bugs or other issues.

Main Public Channels

General discussions (such as reporting bugs and suggesting improvements for the Testlio platform, sharing tips and tricks for testing, and off-topic discussions) can be found in the Testlio Community. For specific topics in Rocket.Chat, see what general channels are for:

  • #general – Where the Testlio team posts important announcements to all testers. Freelancers cannot post in the channel.

  • #workspace-recruitingFor Engagement Managers and Testing Managers to recruit testers for urgent testing needs in a particular workspace. Respond to any specific posts in threads.

  • #device-marketplace – For testers to list old devices up for sale. See the ground rules for this channel.

  • #rocketchat-questionsFor testers to give feedback to the Testlio team about the issues that may occur with the Rocket.Chat platform.

You can also ask questions about good ways to use Rocket.Chat.

In Rocket.Chat, you can join public channels by clicking Join in the channel. Search for the team specific to your country and join it. There are also teams for specific capabilities that you can join:

Workspace Channels

Each workspace has its own channel for discussions. The channel name should match the workspace name with spaces and special characters replaced by hyphens. So a Testlio Android workspace should have a channel of #Testlio-Android.
