Automated testing requires scripters to perform activities such as writing the scripts, performing test execution, tracking defects, etc. In this article you’ll learn how to discover and build a team of scripters for your Workspace.
Testlio uses groups to organize different work types (such as automated testing, localization testing, payments testing). Groups help you discover freelancers based on your testing strategies and approaches. Read an introduction to groups.
Building a Group of Scripters
To build a group of scripters, follow these steps:
In the Testlio Platform, click Teams.
Click + New group.
Define the requirements for the freelancers to be in the group.
Choose from general filters such as location, experience, and skills.
Choose from automated-testing specific filters such as test automation experience, frameworks, programming languages, and tools.
For example, you might be looking for scripters with at least 3 years of automation experience that includes using the Selenium framework and a tool such as Browserstack.
Optional: Increase the group size to get more recommendations.
Click Recommend Freelancers.
Our algorithm recommends freelancers that match your criteria so you can choose from the list.
Freelancer Profiles
Sometimes you may want to look into the recommendations a bit deeper and understand the background of each freelancer. To do so, click the freelancer's name. A detailed profile opens showcasing the freelancers’ skills, industries they are familiar with, apps they are regularly using, devices they own, their availability, and much more. By opening the detailed Profile, you also see badges below their name to understand what types of testing they perform and what courses and certifications they've completed. (Please note that Rating is only shown for freelancers who perform manual testing).
Edit a Freelancer's Role in the Workspace
When inviting a freelancer to the group, they are given the Tester role by default. To change the role, click ⋮ in the row by their name in the group and select Change role.
Invite a Scripter to a Workspace directly
It might happen that you already have experience with some of our freelance scripters and want to include them in another Workspace directly. To do so, follow the guide to Add Testers and Scripters to a Group.
