Set up a Testlio for Slack integration. A single Testlio workspace can send notifications to multiple channels in multiple Slack workspaces, which is useful if you want different channels for different events.

Requirements

  • You need the Admin role in the given Testlio workspace to set up the workspace.

  • If it is a new integration, you need admin permissions in the given Slack workspace.

  • List of available channels depends on a user who is doing or did initial connection with specific Slack workspace - only channels available to that initial user are available.

Set Up a New Integration

To set up a new Slack integration, follow these steps:

  1. In the workspace where you want the integration, navigate to Settings > Slack notifications.

  2. Open the Select Slack workspace dropdown.

  3. Either select an existing workspace or click Add new Workspace. If adding a new workspace:

    1. Follow Slack's process to select a workspace.

    2. Review the required permissions.

    3. Select a channel to post in.

    4. Click Apply.

The confirmation screen to set up access to a Slack workspace.
  4. Select which channel to post notifications in.

  5. Click Configure events.

  6. Select which events you want to send notifications for.

  7. Click Add connection to save the configuration.

Manage Existing Integrations

To manage an existing Slack integration, navigate to Settings > Slack notifications. Next to the integration you want to manage, click ⋮. You have three options.

Edit

You can change which events you want to send notifications for. You can't change the Slack channel or workspace – that requires setting up a new integration.

Mute/Unmute

Integrations that are muted don't send any notifications. Keep in mind that any messages that would have been sent out while the integration is muted are lost (not sent after the integration is unmuted).

Delete

Deleting a integration removes the configuration between the Testlio workspace and the Slack workspace and channel. It leaves the Slack workspace available for future use if you decide to create a new integration with the same Slack workspace.
