Before reading further, please make sure that you've gone over the Introduction to Groups to understand what groups are and what they bring to the Testlio platform.

Understanding Groups

Testlio Admins and Coordinators can organize freelancers into groups. Groups are built based on testing criteria and the recommendation algorithm.

Testing Criteria

Testing criteria are the conditions or requirements that need to be met for the testing. Usually, Coordinators make sure that the requirements are met. Testing requirements can vary, including: a specific device, location, language, or skill.

Recommendation Algorithm

The recommendation algorithm comes into play when the testing criteria are set and the user needs to allocate resources based on these criteria. The algorithm takes into account the criteria and other parameters. The goal of the recommendation algorithm is to find the right set of resources and allow the Coordinator to build a balanced group that everyone has a chance to be part of.

How This Affects Freelancers

Groups are directly tied to your Profile. We expose your profile when recommending testers to our Coordinators. This is why it is important to keep your profile up to date and make sure it reflects various characteristics about you. Your skills, your interests, your location, the languages you speak, the networks you use - everything you bring is important. Keeping your profile up to date increases your chances of becoming part of different groups.
