This article presents a requirement for our freelancers. Failure to follow the process might represent a breach of the Freelancer Services Agreement.

Duplicate issues are issues that someone else has already reported. To succeed as a tester at Testlio, you should try to make sure that the issues you report are not duplicates, otherwise, those issues will be closed.

If a step fails due to an issue during the run execution, before creating a new issue report, make sure that a duplicate issue does not exist.

  1. Open the issue browser by clicking the + Issue button or by simply clicking the Fail button.

  2. Enter the issue title into the issue browser and then click elsewhere from the field. This way our advanced ML and AI will assist you in analyzing the semantic similarities of the issue title. This analysis enables us to suggest relevant, potentially duplicate issues from our database. Please note that the duplicate issue feature will only activate if the title contains a minimum of 30 characters.

Occasionally, duplicate issues could be missed because other testers might have submitted the same issue with a different title. Due to this reason, we strongly recommend opening the issues to read the steps, expected & actual results, and to look at the attachments.

During your search, if you find a duplicate issue that is not closed and does not have a reproduction comment already, follow the reproduction process. Otherwise, continue with reporting a new issue.
