The following process is a requirement for our freelancers. Failure to follow the process might represent a breach of the Freelancer Services Agreement.
One of the variables that our team uses to assign workspaces to freelancers is devices. So you don't miss out on testing opportunities, itβs important to keep your devices up-to-date and manage them wisely.
In addition, it is essential to have the correct device information on your profile as testing with a device to which one was not invited, even if there is a small difference in the OS version, can lead to missed coverage for our clients. It is a violation of the Freelancer Services Agreement and the misrepresentation of device information may result in being off-boarded from Testlio.
Access Your Devices
You can access your device list by clicking your avatar and then Devices.
Add a New Device
The first step when adding a new device to your account is to make sure that you add it to the correct category. You can add your available devices to the following categories:
Mobile
Tablet
Computers
Gaming consoles (such as PS5, Xbox, and any VR headsets)
Connected devices (such as home assistants and Fire, Roku, and Android TV sticks)
Smart TVs (such as Android/Apple TVs)
Wearables
Update Device OS Information
Once you have updated your device OS, you can update the version information in the device section on the Testlio platform by selecting the new OS from the drop-down list. For example:
Important: Testers always need to participate in runs with the device/OS they were invited for. Please keep your device information up-to-date and contact your Test Lead if you device does not match the specific device/OS version you accepted for a run.
If your device's OS version has been updated or changed automatically after you accepted a run invitation for a different OS version, update the information on the platform and reach out to the Test Lead (TL) as soon as possible. The TL reviews the situation and might need to remove you from the run. If you can test with the new OS version, the TL sends out a new invite with the correct version. Do not complete a task that was started with outdated device information without explicit approval from your TL.
How and Why to Add Beta OSs
Many clients test their apps on beta versions. Make sure that you always update your devices for beta testing to the newest beta version.
The development of beta software moves rapidly and issues reported in the previous beta version might not be relevant anymore in the new version. Just as with other versions, always keep your device information up-to-date in the platform or else inform your TL so they can send a invite with the correct beta version.
You can update the beta OS information in the platform as with other verions. If you are the first (and the fastest ππ») to install the beta OS and it is not yet available as an option, add it as a missing device.
